You can expect to see it for sale in the U.S. around August/September of 2009 as a 2010 model. Pricing is expected to stay close to the current models pricing. It is expected to have a small HP bump to 210 HP and 207 lb-ft of torque at just 1,800 rpm (which implies you will see the same power choke-off at higher rpm's).
There are a number of new first time features being offered in the new GTI. The two main ones are; The option of Adaptive Chassis Control (ACC) which comprises adjustable pneumatic dampers and an electronic limited slip differential (XDS) integrated with a sophisticated ESP (Electronic Stabilization Program) system.
